Lavasa is a private planned hill station being built near Pune around the 20kms long Warasgaon Lake. The design typically is inspired from the Italian town Portofino.
Lavasa is almost 4 hours away from Mumbai (200 kms) and an hours drive from Pune and is at its magical best during the monsoon season. The rains arrive from mid June onwards and the subsequent months are filled with showers, lush green hills with many waterfalls surrounding the area. One can spend days looking out at the rain sitting on a verandah with a nice drink in hand and enjoying the lovely view of the dam, the lakes and a paradise that has been found.
