The Morey Plains, Ladakh

About 4 kms from Pang on the Manali-Leh highway, one is greeted with the spectacular sight of Sumkhel Lungpa river featuring some stunning sand and rock natural formations and the plateau of Morey Plains. Flanked by beautiful mountains on both sides, this area is a major attraction to both motorist and bikers. But, one needs to be aware of their speed since bumps on the road, can send you flying.

This road has an average elevation of 4800 metres. After about about 30-35 kilometers, its starts climbing to Tanglangla.

Tanglang La claims to be the world’s second highest motor-able pass at an elevation of 5,328 metres (17,480 ft).

Spare a minute for a quick ride on the famous Morey Plains to Tanglang La in Ladakh. I filmed this video in August 2017…Enjoy it
